Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was a morning news anchor at WCBD TV and acted as a crime reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reporting about the relaxed approach police take towards DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in states authorities again releasing a more stringent directive regarding the cases. Ms. O'Dell was honored by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Award all media South Carolina. O'Dell has worked in Charleston as a reporter, was a anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station prior to moving into Access Hollywood where she is an anchor and reporter on weekends. The present role of O'Dell as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She also co-hosted the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
